NID DAT  (Design Aptitude Test)

National Institute of Design releases the application form for NID DAT, Students can apply for the application form through their official website. This Exam is conducted for both Under Graduate & Post Graduate levels. Please Scroll Down to know more about Exam Highlights, Important Dates, Eligibility Criteria, Syllabus etc. The National Institute of Design (NID) entrance exam is a national-level exam for candidates seeking admission to Bachelor of Design (B.Des) and Master of Design (M.Des) programmes at the National Institute of Design. The Graduate Diploma Programme in Design (GDPD) was also offered at one stage, but it has been discontinued since 2020. Aspirants must take the NID DAT (Prelims) and NID DAT (Mains) to be considered for admission to design programmes (Mains). The NID DAT (Prelims) is a written design aptitude test, while the NID DAT (Mains) includes a Studio Test and an Interview. The Prelims exam has already taken place this year. GDPD was offered at the NID campuses in Assam, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, and Andhra Pradesh, with admission based on the NID DAT. All GDPD seats have now been changed to B.Des seats, and these four NID colleges are now offering B.Des admissions rather than GDPD admissions. From now on, B.Des will be offered at all NID campuses. NID DAT is administered by the National Institute of Design (NID). NID is an autonomous national institution in Ahmedabad, India, that was established in 1961. It is a design curriculum, practice, and research centre dedicated to raising design awareness. The institution's key goal is to develop exceptional design professionals to meet India's diverse design needs, to become a repository of design expertise and experience, to establish a benchmark of design education and practise, and to provide a comprehensive understanding of technological, managerial, and design fundamentals.
