IIT Roorkee Conducts Annual Event: The theme of COVID-19, ‘Envisioning Better Healthcare Evolution,' was the focus of the case. A variety of speakers spoke at the forum, many of whom concentrated on health care staff and their sense of responsibility for upholding society's health standards. From March 27 to March 28, the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, held a virtual two-day annual event called the "National Social Summit." IIT Roorkee Conducts Event ‘National Social Summit 2021’

On Friday, March 26th, 2021, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee held a virtual launch of its annual flagship event, the ‘National Social Summit 2021.' The event is being coordinated by UNESCO and the NITI Aayog. The event is being held this year under the auspices of UNESCO and the NITI Aayog, in partnership with the WHO Country Office for India as the Knowledge and Technical Partner, the Family Planning Association of India (FPAI), the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), and the Centre for Disease Dynamics, Economics, and Policy (CDDEP).

WHO deputy to India Dr. Roderico announce: “Projects such as the National Social Summit 2021 shed light on health, its issues, inequities, and possible solutions. “A good sense of fairness is at the heart of public health, and the WHO-India relationship with NSS IIT Roorkee as a knowledge partner will pave the way for better outcomes healthcare development,” said WHO deputy to India Dr. Roderico Ofrin. Personal wellbeing seminars, panel discussions, Model United Nations (MUN), case studies, street play, treasure hunts, strat-a-thon, stress management workshops, and turncoat were among the activities.

Prof Ajit K Chaturvedi, Director of IIT Roorkee, kicked off the case. “The theme is a tribute to healthcare professionals, such as doctors and nurses, as well as all social service heroes, who are battling COVID-19 to keep us safe,” he said. The NSS team hopes to develop and propose solutions to real-world problems, especially those related to healthcare, through the Social Summit.” Dr. Raman Gangakhedkar, former Deputy Director, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Dr. Roderico Ofrin, WHO representative to India, and Dr. Randeep Guleria, Director, AIIMS, Delhi, were present at the event's opening ceremony.

The event was co-hosted by WHO, India's country office, the Indian Council of Medical Research, and the Family Planning Association of India. Mr Ravi Singh, the Founder and CEO of Khalsa Aid, was in attendance at the valedictory ceremony.

A gathering devoted to healthcare professionals: This year, NSS IIT Roorkee is taking a step forward by dedicating its annual flagship event to healthcare staff, including physicians, nurses, and all social service warriors, who are fighting the challenge of Covid-19.
