Exam Description

AIBE (All India Bar Examination)

AIBE is a national-level study undertaken by the Bar Council of India to determine whether the right to practice law is available to provisionally licensed advocates or new law graduates. The exam is an open book examination that tests the analytical capabilities of applicants along with a basic understanding of law topics. The BCI (Bar Council of India) is the AIBE's organising body. This exam is administered by BCI to determine whether a law graduate has the necessary skills to practise law in the country. When the Legal Education Committee and BCI members passed a notification regarding the examination in 2010, it became known as the All India Bar Examination (AIBE).

Registration for AIBE XVI has been extended until June 15. Due to the spread of the coronavirus across the country, the exam scheduled for May 30 has been postponed indefinitely. The revised date has yet to be announced on the official website or communicated to the candidates. The Certificate of Practice for AIBE XV will be released after July 2021, according to the official statement. The All India Bar Examination, abbreviated as AIBE, is a national-level entrance exam administered by the Bar Council of India (BCI). The purpose of the All India Bar Examination is to test the capacity of advocates who wish to practise law in India. BCI administers the exam twice a year.
