GMAT Exam Pattern 2023 - What is the Computer Adaptive Test?

The GMAT 2023's mathematical and verbal reasoning parts are computer-adaptive, which means the test's difficulty level adjusts based on how well you can respond to the problems. The computer-adaptive design of the GMAT 2023 exam pattern provides a very accurate assessment of the candidate's potential.

The first question in the verbal and numerical abilities portions will be of a medium difficulty. The computer evaluates the candidate's response while they are giving it, scores it, and chooses the subsequent question based on that score and any responses to questions that came before.

The second question will be more difficult if the first question is answered accurately. Additionally, the subsequent question will be of moderate difficulty if the prior one was answered wrong. Up till the candidate finishes the part, this procedure is repeated.

The advantage of a computer-adaptive GMAT exam design is that the applicant can demonstrate his potential and retain the verbal and mathematical ability parts.

Because the machine chooses the following question based on the answers to each one, it should be highlighted that the applicant won't be allowed to skip, go back to, or amend their answers.

GMAT Score

The GMAT score is based on a scale of 200 to 800 points. The total GMAT score was 564.84 out of 800. Each segment of the GMAT is scored differently:

GMAT scores are good for five years, and top B-schools need a GMAT score of 700 or higher. Scores on the GMAT can be registered for up to ten years. The GMAT score reports include four scores: verbal, quantitative, integrated reasoning, and overall.

GMAT Score Range

Since the GMAT is an adaptive measure, the difficulty level changes over time. The following are the two key factors that influence how the GMAT score is calculated for different sections:
