CEED (Common Entrance Examination for Design)
The Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT, Bombay) administers the CEED (Common Entrance Examination for Design) on behalf of the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Department of Education, Government of India.
The test measures a candidate's capacity for visual perception as well as their sketching, design, and communication abilities,For admission to Master of Design (M.Des.) programmes at IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Kanpur, and IIITDM Jabalpur as well as PhD programmes in Design at select Institutes, candidates must pass the Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED).The above-mentioned programmes cannot be entered with just a CEED qualification. Candidates must additionally meet additional requirements, such as those for the relevant tests and interviews, in addition to CEED.
The application form for the CEED 2023 exam has commenced on September 30. Regular registration will close on November 4; however, with a late fee of INR 500, registrations are open till November 11, 2022.
The CEED 2023 application is for admission to the M.Des and Ph.D. courses.
Candidates who meet the prescribed eligibility criteria for their program need to duly fill out the form and submit it before the last date.
The step-wise process to fill out the CEED 2023 application form is explained in brief below.
- Online registration - The candidate will have to get registered through the official portal by entering their email id, name, date of birth, etc. On successful registration, an applicant account will be created.
- Check eligibility - The candidate will next have to undergo an eligibility check process, wherein he/she has to enter their qualifying exam, passing year, and mobile number.
- Fill in the form - Next fill in personal, academic, and contact details. The candidate also has to select THREE exam centres, in the order of priority.
- Upload documents – The candidate has to next upload photo, signature, and qualifying exam certificates in the prescribed format.
- Payment of the exam fee: After confirming that the application form is complete in all respects, pay the exam fee online using net banking, credit, or debit cards.

CEED Admit Card 2023 (Released)
From January 13, 2023, till the day of the exam, admit cards will be available for download. Before visiting the test centre, kindly grab a clear printout of the admit card.
Step to Download CEED 2023 Admit Card
Admit cards for CEED 2023 are frequently provided in an online version.To receive their CEED 2023 admission card, candidates must follow the steps mentioned below:
- Step 1: Click the connection at https://ceedapp.iitb.ac.in/CEED/home.jsp.
- Step 2: Enter your login details, including your e-mail address and password.
- Step 3: Review the information on your CEED 2023 admit card.You can contact the admissions officials right away if there is a discrepancy.

CEED 2023 Result
IIT Bombay will announce the CEED 2023 results on March 7, 2023. The marks attained by candidates in Part A will be included in the final score. However, only the shortlisted candidates will be given access to the Part B marks and CEED 2023 merit rank.
Candidates must meet Part A's qualifications in order to be on the short list.
The criteria listed in the question paper will be used to evaluate Part B holistically because it is a descriptive section. The candidate will not be given access to the Part B Answer Booklet that has been reviewed. Also, neither Part A nor Part B will have a provision for revaluation.
From the second week, the score card for CEED 2023 will be accessible for download.
CEED CUTOFF 2023
IIT Bombay will provide cutoff scores for Part A, which consists of objective-type questions, in 2023. For the subjectively based Part B, however, no cut-off scores will be made public. Part A's cutoff scores will vary depending on the category. Shortlisted candidates will have their Part B answer booklets examined if they fulfil the Part A cutoff criterion.
Important information regarding the CEED 2022 Part A Cut-Off Marks
Only Part A's cutoff marks would be made public; Part B's cutoffs would not.
A pre-established formula would be used to calculate the category-specific cutoff marks.
Only those candidates who are shortlisted or who meet the cutoff in their respective categories will have Part B examined.
Manual evaluation will be done for Part B.

Steps to Download CEED 2023 Answer Key
Candidates will download the CEED 2023 response key by following the steps outlined below:
- Step 1: Go to the CEED's official website (www.ceed.iitb.ac.in) or use the direct links given above.
- Step 2: From the drop-down option, choose the 'Draft Response Key for Part-A' connection.
- Step 3: On your PC, a PDF file containing the CEED Part-A Draft Response key will appear.
- Step 4: Save the PDF file to your computer for future use
Steps to View CEED 2023 Result
The measures to check/access the CEED 2022 results are as follows:
- Step 1: Go to the CEED 2023 official website.
- Step 2: Choose the 'Portal' tab from the drop-down menu.
- Step 3: Enter your login details, including your e-mail address and password.
- Step 4: The outcome of your CEED 2023 will be shown on the screen.
- Step 5: Download and print the CEED 2023 exam results.
- Step 6: Print out a copy of the CEED 2023 scorecard for future use.
How is CEED 2023 Cutoff Calculated?
The formula for calculating the CEED cutoff has been updated by IIT Bombay. The new formulae for calculating the CEED cutoff are available here. Examine how the CEED cutoff is now measured.
- Candidates will be shortlisted based on their performance in CEED Part A.
- The cut-off marks (X) for Part-A will be determined using Y + (Z/2) = X, where Y and Z are the average marks and standard deviation of the distribution of marks obtained by all candidates in Part-A of CEED 2021, respectively.
- After the first decimal place, the values of Y and Z will be rounded off.
- Candidates from the reserved groups would be required to meet a lower cut-off point.
The CEED 2022 cutoff for all groups will be determined as follows:
- 0.9X for OBC (non-creamy layer)
- 0.9X for EWS
- 0.5X for SC/ ST
- 0.5X for PwD
*where X is the open category's cut-off point.
