JEE Main Eligibility Criteria 2021
The JEE Main 2021 eligibility criteria have been reduced by 75%. To be qualified to apply for admission, students must have received a minimum of 75 percent in the Class 12 examination or be in the top 20 percentile in Class 12/qualifying examination held by the respective Boards.
- Age Limit Criteria: There is no upper age limit for JEE Main 2021 candidates. Candidates who passed class 12th or equivalent in 2019, 2020, or who are appearing in 2021, regardless of age, are eligible to participate in JEE Main 2021.
- Maximum number of Attempts: Candidates are allowed to take the exam for a maximum of three years in a row. Candidates are qualified to participate in all four sessions: February, March, April, and May. All of these will be combined into one attempt.
- Educational Qualification: Candidates who passed their XII or equivalent exam in 2019, 2020, or 2021 are eligible to take JEE Main 2021. To sit for the BPlanning Paper, candidates must have passed the qualifying examination with 50 percent in Mathematics and 50 percent in the aggregate of the QE. BE/ BTech applicants must have passed the qualifying examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, as well as one of the following: Chemistry/Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational Subject. Candidates for BArch must have passed the Qualifying Examination in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.
- Year of Appearance in Qualifying Examination: To sit for JEE Main 2021, candidates must have passed their XII or equivalent exam in 2019, 2020, or be appearing in 2021. Candidates who passed class XII or QE in 2018 or previously, as well as those who will take such an exam in 2022 or later, are ineligible to take JEE Main 2021.

Steps to fill the Application Form for Jee Mains 2021:
To apply for Jee Main 2021, follow these steps:
Step 1: Register for Jee Mains online using your own email address and phone number at the NTA's official website.
Step 2: Complete the Online Application Form and save the Application Number generated by the system.
Step 3: Submit a scanned photograph of I recent images (file size should be 10Kb – 200Kb) should be either in color or black and white with 80 percent of the face (without mask) visible including ears against a white background; (ii) applicant's signature (file size should be: 4kb - 30kb); (iii) duly verified result awaited attestation form (file size should be: 50kb to 500kb); (iv) reserved category certificate (SC/ST/OB
Step 4: Pay the application fee with a debit card, credit card, net banking, or UPI at SBI/Canara Bank/HDFC Bank/ICICI Bank/Paytm Payment Gateway and retain a copy of the receipt.
Step 5: Download, save and print a copy of the Application Form's Confirmation Page for future reference (which will be available only after effective fee remittance).

JEE Main 2021 Counselling
Step 1: Registration - To begin, candidates must go to the JoSAA's official website. Candidates who have qualified for JEE Main 2021 must register to take part in JEE Main counseling. The following are the steps for completing the JoSAA 2021 registration form online:

Read the instructions and then select the 'I Agree' option.

The JoSAA counseling form will be shown.

Fill out the form and then click the ‘Confirm Registration' button.
Step 2: Choice filling & locking: Candidates will be required to lock their college and course preferences in the second step. Aspirants will be assigned seats based on availability and the choices they make. The steps for filling out and locking online choices are outlined below.

After each round of counseling, candidates can finalize their selections.
Step 3: JEE Main 2021 Seat Allotment - Seats will be allocated to candidates based on their performance in JEE Main 2021. JoSAA will hold two rounds of mock seat allocation.
Step 4: Payment of JEE Main 2021 counseling fees - Candidates must pay the counseling fees and confirm their seats after the seat allotment procedure. Candidates must pay the seat acceptance fee via Net Banking/e-Challan for the allotted seats. At the reporting center, all required documents will be verified. A provisional admission letter will be issued to the candidates following the verification of their documents and payment of the application fee.
If candidates are dissatisfied with their assigned seats, they can float, freeze, slide, or withdraw.
Float: This option is available to candidates who want to keep their assigned seats or upgrade their seats.
Freeze: If candidates are satisfied with their assigned seats and do not wish to participate in further rounds of counseling, they can choose the 'Freeze' option.
Slide: Candidates who want to accept the allotted seat and continue their education at the same college/institute can select the 'Slide' option.
Withdraw: Candidates who have already accepted a seat but wish to withdraw their acceptance may do so by reporting to the allotted institute prior to the final round of JEE Main 2021 seat allotment.
Step 5: Reporting to the center for document verification -Candidates must bring their original documents and report to the designated JoSAA 2021 reporting center in this step. Candidates' candidatures may be canceled if they fail to report to the center or do not produce all of the required documents. Candidates are required to keep multiple copies of all documents for verification and seat confirmation.
