Rajasthan state governments leave decision of closing schools
Rajasthan State Government Delegated Decision: In view of the increased COVID-19 cases in the state, the Rajasthan state government has delegated the decision to close schools to district administrations. Other states, such as Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, and Chhattisgarh, have ordered the closure of schools for students in grades 1 through 8. Despite the growing number of cases, states such as Haryana and Bihar have retained their offline classes for students. The state governments, on the other hand, have directed school administrators across the state to strictly adhere to the COVID-19 guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures.
Guidelines and SOPs issued for different states Rajasthan: Schools in Rajasthan have closed for students in grades 1 to 5 until further notice, while the government has delegated the decision to the district administration for students in grades 6 and above.
Madhya Pradesh: The state government of Madhya Pradesh has declared that schools in the state will remain closed for students in grades 1 to 8 until April 15, 2021, but classes for students in grades 9 to 12 will be conducted offline starting April 1, 2021, with parents permission.
Maharashtra: Schools in Maharashtra's Pune and Latur districts have been closed until March 31, 2021, and schools and colleges in Palghar have been closed until further notice.
Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh: Following a rise in COVID-19 cases, the state government of Uttar Pradesh has decided to close schools in the state until April 4, 2021. The state government of Chhattisgarh, on the other hand, has ordered that schools remain closed until further notice, while exams will be conducted online and students will be granted a general promotion.
Delhi: Students in Delhi's primary and secondary schools will be closed until further notice. Due to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the state, the government has also announced that schools will remain closed until further notice.
Punjab and Himachal Pradesh: Except for medical and nursing colleges, all schools and colleges in Punjab will be closed until April 10, 2021. Schools in Himachal Pradesh will also be closed until April 4, 2021, with offline classes for students in grades 10 and 12 continuing as planned.
Gujarat: The state government of Gujarat has declared that schools in Ahmedabad, Surat, Rajkot, Vadodara, Jamnagar, Bhavnagar, and Gandhinagar will be closed until April 10, 2021, with online exams continuing as scheduled.
