Odisha 10th and 12th Exam 2021 Postponed

Odisha 10th and 12th Exam 2021 Postponed: In light of the increasingly growing Coronavirus cases, the Odisha State Government has agreed to postpone the BSE Odisha Matric Exam 2021 and the CHSE Odisha Plus Two Exam 2021. Odisha 10th and 12th Exam 2021 was scheduled to take place across the state from May 3 to 15, as per the earlier schedule. As a result of the postponement, the BSE Odisha and CHSE Odisha Board Exams will be held at a later date, once the situation has improved. The Education Department has been ordered by Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to postpone the upcoming Odisha Board Exams in 2021.

Decision after High-level Meeting: As per reports from local agencies, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik chaired a high-level meeting today, April 15, 2021, to review the situation surrounding the state's upcoming board exams. Officials shared key details about the prevailing COVID-19 situation in Odisha during the meeting, and as a result, the Odisha CM has directed that the BSE Odisha 10th Exam 2021 and CHSE Odisha 12th Exam 2021 be postponed. These statements, however, are based on media reports, and an official confirmation is awaiting. During the meeting, officials from the Education Department and the respective Boards were told to release a new date sheet/timetable for the upcoming exams as soon as the situation improves.

Schools Closed till 30th April: In light of the increasing COVID-19 situation and the rapid rise in Coronavirus cases, the Odisha State Government took proactive steps earlier this month to ensure the safety of students. As a measure, the state government has suspended classes for all students in the state, from 1st to 12th grade. For the academic year 2021-22, schools in Odisha have been given permission to hold online classes for students before further orders are issued.

Odisha 9th and 11th Exam 2021 Promoted: The Chief Minister Office (CMO) announced that in the academic year 2020-21, all students in Class 9 and 11 would be promoted to the 10th and 12th grades, respectively. Due to an increase in COVID 19 cases in the state, the Odisha State Board had previously decided to close schools for Classes 9 and 11. For the academic year 2021-22, schools in Odisha have been given permission to hold online classes for students before further orders are issued. Physical education classes will be prohibited until April 30 in all government, private, and aided schools in Odisha. Online classes are an option for schools.
