Ph.D. in Biochemistry is a three-year doctorate program in which students analyze and interpret numerous experimental data to uncover a previously unknown aspect of life science. Ph.D. Biochemistry is a research-based program that examines living organisms at the molecular level and focuses on biomolecules in depth. This advanced degree combines genetics, forensics, medicine, plant science, and microbiology, among other biological sciences. It consists of a number of seminars, project work, and laboratory research. This program assists in the development of research abilities through a comprehensive approach to reference materials courses, as well as mentoring undergraduate students and contributing to the department journal. Graduates with a Ph.D. in Biochemistry work as biochemists, college teachers, or researchers, advancing science and society by experimenting and providing solutions. Genetics, forensics, stem cell research, plant science, bio-organic chemistry, microbiology, medicine, and bioethics are all part of the curriculum. Candidates must submit a research thesis on a relevant biochemistry issue at the end of the course, which will be utilized for final evaluation.



Eligibility Criteria for Ph.D. Biochemistry

A Master's degree or a professional degree that has been declared equivalent to a Master's degree by the competent statutory regulatory authority, with at least 55 percent aggregate marks or a grade of 'B' on the UGC's seven-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever the grading system is followed), SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-abled and other candidates may be given a 5% mark reduction from 55 percent to 50 percent, or an equal grade reduction, as determined by the University Grants Commission from time to time.

  • Ph.D. programs are not eligible for Scholarship.
  • NIMS does not offer scholarships for the Diploma Paramedical, Nursing, Pharmacy, or Architecture programs.
  • Tuition prices are the sole fees for which scholarships are available.
  • Exam costs are paid on exam day, uniform kits are purchased as needed, and club dues are paid.
  • If their aggregate percentage in qualifying exams meets the criteria outlined in Prof. (Dr.) Balvir Singh Tomar Merit-Based Scholarship, all students who have been offered a scholarship based on the NIMS University Common Scholarship or the NIMS University Common Entrance Examination are eligible for an upgrade. Students must submit an application as well as a certified copy of their grades in this scenario.
