The Master of Technology in Mechanical Engineering is a Mechanical Engineering postgraduate degree. The duration of this course is 2 years. It deals with the study of mechanics, statics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science, and structural analysis used in designing, development, construction, production, installation, operation, and maintenance of tools, machines, and various other mechanical machinery, such as cars, trucks, aircraft, trains, space vehicles, lathes, milling machines, grinders, large steam and gas turbines, nuclear power plant parts, internal combustion engines, jet engines, heating, and air conditioning machines, refrigerators, etc. It encompasses all major fields of architecture, thermal and industrial engineering and is general in nature. M.Tech brings a person into the whirlpool of science and mathematics of Mechanical Engineering. The course helps a student to get a deeper knowledge of solids, materials, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, the design of machine elements, and many other concepts about machines and material.
Eligibility Criteria for M.Tech(Mechanical Engineering)
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent examination.
- The admission is done through the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) Score Merit List.
