B.Sc. Hons. Biotechnology is a 3-year full-time undergraduate program that combines Biology and Technology, exposing students to its various applications in a variety of fields. Bachelor's degree in Science (Hons.) Biotechnology is a broad area of science that combines the study of biology with the study of technology. Candidates gain a more comprehensive and in-depth understanding of principles in chemistry, cell biology, biology, and computer science.

Candidates are interested in pursuing higher education in the fields of M.Sc., Ph.D., or M.Phil.  degree in Biotechnology will benefit from this program. In order to conduct laboratory practices and innovate newer scientific discoveries, aspirants must have patience and scientific skills. Candidates must have certain qualities, such as an imaginative and far-sighted mind, the ability to operate on computers, and a methodical and patient temperament, in order to get the most out of this course. The combination of biology and technology helps scientists to bring their knowledge into practice in order to conduct genetic engineering, which can be used to cure diseases, create new medicines, and make various changes to humans and other living things.

The prerequisite eligibility requirement for this program is passing the 10+2 test in science or any similar examination in three subjects from physics, chemistry, biology, information technology, or mathematics with a 50 percent aggregate mark. Candidates must pass the entrance examinations conducted by different institutions since B.Sc (Hons.) Biotechnology is a highly career-oriented course that needs candidates to have a general understanding of the intricacies of the subject. Admissions are made based on the final score obtained after passing the entrance exam as well as the 10+2 results.
