BTech Bioinformatics is a 4-year undergraduate programme in which students study bioinformatics. The study of the use of information technology in the field of molecular biology is the focus of BTech Bioinformatics. It is concerned with the investigation of the role of information technology and computer science in the comprehension of biological data. The course covers a wide range of topics, including molecular biology, computer science, medicine, and information technology. BTech Bioinformatics seeks to address pressing biologics problems by using the most recent technical advances, computing resources, and applications. Candidates who complete the course may be able to work as drug molecule designers in pharmaceutical companies, algorithm developers in the software industry, or continue their research and development in the field of Bioinformatics. Students are taught in a variety of ways, both in the classroom and in subject-specific laboratories.

Basic sciences, applied sciences, biological sciences, and quantitative research methods are among the topics covered in the course. The focus of the course is on applying analytic and programming techniques to biological fields. Students who are passionate about biosciences and technology will benefit greatly from the course. This course is appropriate for students who have a strong interest in information technology, molecular biology, and a desire to learn more about science. Students can gain a better understanding of the importance of scientific experiments and data analysis in biology. Students will be asked to work on research projects that will help them develop their data analysis and interpretation skills. After completing this course, you will be eligible for jobs such as biological database developer, bioinformatics software engineer, and other related fields. The average salary is between Rs. 2 and Rs. 7 lakhs. Students who want to pursue an MTech in Bioinformatics and expand their knowledge can do so. This will broaden their horizons even further.

 

Eligibility Criteria for B.Tech Bioinformatics

To be eligible, applicants must have earned a minimum of 50% in their 10+2 with PCM/B from a recognized board.
