National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA)

 

Since 2006, COA has conducted the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA). For admission to the Architecture degree program, candidates must pass the Council's Aptitude Test in Architecture. NATA ensures that the admission requirements for the five-year Bachelor of Architecture (BArch) degree program are met. NATA will be administered as a rigorous online aptitude test at Council-designated centers throughout the country. NATA assesses an applicant's aptitude for a particular field of study, such as Architecture, by evaluating cognitive skills, visual perception and aesthetic sensitivity assessments, analytical reasoning, and critical thinking abilities.

NATA 2021 Exam Schedule: The examination will be held in one session on the first test date and again on the second test date. In the event that the government creates a limit to the number of candidates who may participate in a single session due to social distancing norms arising from the pandemic Covid-19, a second examination session might be considered. Candidates must indicate their preferred city of review on the NATA portal www.nata.in using their respective login accounts.

 

NATA 2021 Eligibility Requirements: 

 

  • Candidates who have completed their 10 + 2 exam with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects of study or their 10+ 3 Diploma with Mathematics as a subject of study are qualified to take the NATA 2021 exam. Candidates who are currently enrolled in a 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as subjects of study, or a 10+3 Diploma with Mathematics, can also apply provisionally for NATA-2021.
  • Candidates should be aware that NATA 2021 qualifies them for admission to B.Arch. programs offered by universities and institutions throughout the country, provided they meet the eligibility requirements set out by the Council.

 

NATA 2021 Admission to the first year of B.Arch. program: For the academic year 2021-2022, the eligibility for admission to the first year of a five-year B.Arch. the degree program will be determined by the Central Government's CoA (Minimum Standards of Architectural Education) Regulations, 2020, or as amended. In terms of Legislation, 2020, the following is the new eligibility:

  • No applicant will be accepted to the architecture program until he or she has obtained a 50% or higher on an exam at the end of the 10+2 examination scheme. Passed 10+2 level examination with Mathematics as a compulsory subject with at least 50% marks in aggregate or passed 10+3 Diploma Examination with Mathematics as a compulsory subject with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
  • Candidates should be informed that no direct lateral entry is permitted at any year, semester, or stage of the B.Arch. the program, regardless of qualification.

 

NATA 2021 Reservations in various categories: Reservations and relaxations in qualifying marks for reserved categories for the purpose of admission are at the discretion of the Admission/ Counselling Authority and are not protected by this test.

Before submitting the document, it must be reviewed. An Application Number is produced once the application is submitted. It should be written down, along with the password and security query, as these are all necessary for subsequent logins to upload images and pay fees. Please note that the system will not authorize any applicant with the same name, father name, mother name, or date of birth to submit a duplicate form. Candidates who wish to make any adjustments to the information given in their application can do so through a correction window that will be open only for the duration of the specified period. If a nominee offers false details, his or her candidature may be canceled, and the NATA- 2021score may be considered void.

 

NATA 2021 Procedure for Filing an Application: The first NATA 2021 test will take place on April 10, 2021, and the second NATA 2021 test will take place on June 12, 2021. After the results of the first test are announced, the registration window for the second test will open for 14 days. The application must be completed ONLINE at the NATA website, www.nata.in. Candidates must go to the portal and CLICK the ONLINE APPLICATION NATA– 2021 connection, after which they will be guided to the application form. Filling out PERSONAL DETAILS, DOCUMENT UPLOADING, and FEE PAYMENT are the three stages of the application process.

 

NATA 2021 Form of application: Fields will be filled in a participatory manner. Please note that for each application, the applicant's name, father's name, mother's name, postal address, and date of birth must all be unique. When a candidate submits his or her PERSONAL Information, the system will ask him or her to enter his or her email address, which will be used as the user name. Following that, the applicant would be allowed to join the scheme for a variety of reasons, as detailed below:

  • Personal information can be accessed and edited (till going to the document upload stage)
  • Images can be uploaded.
  • Using EPG to make a charge payment.
  • The Confirmation Page is printed.
  • If necessary, correct the data.

 

Uploading of pictures: The following photos must be submitted by all candidates:

  • Size of a recent passport Color photograph of both ears visible and just the front view.
  • Make your own signature Only black/blue ink documents in jpg/jpeg format are appropriate. The document's page size must be in A4 format. The following are the specifications for the document's size and dimensions:

NATA 2021 Details on the Application Fee: 

 

  • A candidate applying for NATA– 2021 must pay an application fee of INR Rs.2,000/- via the ONLINE mode for each exam. A candidate who wishes to apply for both the first and second exams must pay Rs 4000/- as an application fee.
  • Candidates belonging to the SC/ST, PWD, and transsexual categories must pay Rs 1500 for each test and Rs 3,000 for both exams.
  • Candidates who want to take the tests at test centers outside of India will be charged Rs. 10,000 (Rupees ten thousand only) for each test and Rs. 20,000 (Rupees twenty thousand only) for both tests if they take them online.

 

Exam Pattern & Syllabus for NATA 2021 (June Session)

 

Multiple-choice questions (MCQ), Multiple Select Questions (MSQ), Preferential Choice questions (PCQ), and Numerical Response questions (NAQ) may be used in the aptitude exam. The questions will be worth one, two, or three points, and you will have 180 minutes to answer all 125 questions. The English language will be used to administer the aptitude test. Any or more of the following methods will be used to determine the candidate's ability:

  • Diagrammatic Reasoning – Examines rational reasoning skills with the use of diagrams and scenarios.
  • Numerical Reasoning – This skill is assessed through a series of basic problems.
  • Verbal Reasoning – This test measures the ability to evaluate verbal logic.
  • Inductive Reasoning – This test assesses the ability to recognize patterns and analyze data.
  • Situational Judgment – This section assesses your problem-solving abilities.
  • The ability to recognize patterns, sequences, or relationships between shapes and imagery is tested using logical reasoning.
  • Abstract Reasoning – This section will test general knowledge as well as the ability to apply that knowledge in new circumstances.

Basic concepts in mathematics, physics, and geometry, language and interpretation, elements and principles of architecture, aesthetic awareness, color theory, lateral thinking and logical reasoning, visual perception and comprehension, graphics and imagery, building anatomy and architectural terminology, and basic techniques of building construction could all be tested.

 

NATA 2021 Admit Card Issue: 

 

  • The Admit Card will be generated on the respective webpage for the candidate in question according to the schedule notified with the allocated NATA 2021 Examination Center and the downloadable admit card version will be published. A roll number for each candidate will also be generated.
  • The applicant has to download a soft copy of the Admission Card from the website and is required to show an original photo Identity Card- Voter Card/Pan Card/Aadhar Card/Driving License with a printed hard copy at the Examination Centre, which is listed in the downloaded Admit Card.
  • Candidates must ensure that their photograph and signature on the admit card are not mutilated, distorted, or soiled, even if this happens by accident. The NATA-2021 will not allow applicants with such mutilated/distorted/soiled admitting cards.
  • All candidates should keep their admission cards securely in all respects in an undamaged location, as specified above, until the admission procedure is completed.

 

NATA 2021 Choosing an Examination Center: Candidates who have chosen to take the NATA 2021 exam at a test center will be assigned to one of the testing centers. The Candidate's preferences will be used to determine where the test will be held.

 

NATA 2021 Results Declaration: Laws for Examining/Reviewing Response Papers: The response key to the NATA 2021 test paper questions will be available in the public domain after the review. The answers to MCQ, MSQ, PAQ, and NAQ style questions, as well as their weighting as decided by the Council, shall be considered final. Any applicant desiring post-publication scrutiny and/or analysis of the response paper for a single test may do so for Rs 3000/- (Rupees Three Thousand Only). For this procedure, the candidate must fill out an online form and pay online within three days of receiving the results. Further questions would not be entertained.

 

Format of the result: Before the results are announced, the results will be available on the website www.nata.in, and will be announced in different electronic/printing media. The following information will be shown on the result sheet:

  • Exam marks out of a possible 200
  • Qualified/Ineligible The qualifying marks for NATA-2021 are 75 out of 200.

 

NATA- 2021 Ranking Validity:

The NATA-2021 score is only valid for admission to the academic year 2021-2022.

 

Procedures to be followed at Test Centers during the Examination:

 

1. Applicants must follow the following timetable:

  • Reach at the Exam Center by 9.00 a.m.
  • At 9.15 a.m., the entrance to the examination hall is opened.
  • Candidate registration must be done by 9.45 a.m.
  • At 10:00 a.m., the examination hall gate will be locked.
  • The test will begin at 10:00 a.m.
  • Exam time is from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

NOTE: Candidates will not be allowed to enter the examination hall after 10.15 p.m., and no extra time will be provided. Before 1.00 p.m., no one is allowed to leave the examination center.

2. Candidates must bring the following items with them:

  • NATA- 2021 Admit Card was downloaded.
  • Aadhar/Passport/ Driver's License/ Voter ID (original proof of identity).

3. To obtain entry to the Examination Hall, candidates must present their Admit Card (NATA-2021) upon request. The Center-in-Charge will not allow an applicant who does not have a printout of the downloaded admit card and a valid photo ID to enter the Examination Hall.

4. Before the applicant is assigned a seat for the interview, a photograph of the candidate will be taken at the Centre. When the process is completed, the applicant will be assigned a seat at random.

5. Candidates who are found within the examination hall with any printed or written textual content, bits of paper, or any other material other than those specified under SL.No.-2 will be disqualified from taking the exam.

6. Cell phones, Bluetooth devices, calculators, slide rules, log tables, and electronic watches with calculator functions are not permitted in the exam room. Possession of such things during the examinations may result in the candidate's candidature being revoked.

7. Candidates will be given paper to use for any rough work.

8. Unless the Centre-in-Charge gives special permission, no applicant may leave his or her seat or the Examination Hall before the examination is completed.

9. During the examination, candidates must remain silent. In the examination hall, any conversation, gesticulation, or disruption would be considered misconduct. If an applicant is found to have used unjust means, his or her candidature will be canceled, and he or she will be barred from taking examinations for a period of time determined by the Council of Architecture, depending on the extent of the offense.

10. Candidates must follow the government's advisories, recommendations, and precautions for Pandemic Covid-19 containment. Furthermore, candidates must follow the NATA 2021 Guidelines provided by the Council of Architecture.
