CG PET (Chhattisgarh Pre Engineering Test)

The Chhattisgarh Pre Engineering Test (CG PET) is a state level entrance examination conducted by the Technical Examination Board of Chhattisgarh (CPEB).It is conducted for admission to various undergraduate engineering Programs provided in the State of Chhattisgarh by its participating institutions. Every year, the CG PET exam is organised off-line.

CG PET 2021: Eligibility Criteria:


Before applying for CG PET-2021, the candidates need to check the eligibility criteria and see if they are satisfying the eligibility requirements or not. The following requirements are set by the board, check the CG PET 2021 Eligibility Criteria:  .


  • The candidate must be an Indian national.
  • Candidates who are applying for the examination should have a state domicile.

Educational Qualification

  • Candidate should have passed their higher secondary education (10+2) examination form a recognised board or from the Chattisgarh Board.
  • Candidates should have Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry and one of the technical vocational/ Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Computer Science/ IT/ Information Practice/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies subjects in their qualifying examination.
  • The minimum qualifying marks are 45% for General categoryand 40% for SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates.

For Agricultural Engineering/ Dairy Technology: Candidate should have passed in class 12th with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English as compulsory subject with minimum 50% marks and 45% marks are required for SC/ ST/ OBC candidates.

CG PET : Exam Pattern


The exam pattern includes the duration of the exam, number of questions in the exam, types of questions. Knowing the exam pattern would help the candidates to prepare better. The exam will be conducted in offline mode by the authorities. In the exam, there are 150 multiple choice questions in total.There is one mark for each correct answer and no negative marking for any incorrect or attempted questions. Candidate will be given 3 hours to complete the 3 sections of the exam paper

CG PET 2020: Result


The authorities concerned will release the CG PET 2020 results online. They will publish the results on the official website.By logging into their accounts using their CG PET 2020 roll number/ registration number, candidates download the outcome. The authorities will prepare the merit list on the basis of the applicant rank obtained in the CG PET 2020.

Inter-e-merit guidelines will be considered if more than one candidate gets the same marks. There is an inter-se-merit rule list that will be followed:

A better merit rank will be given For candidates with higher mathematics scores, in particular. Physics scores would be considered if there is still a tie.If still there is a tie, age will be given priority. In case candidates' age is also same, their HSC scores will be considered.


CG PET 2020 Cutoff


The minimum marks required to get admission into the participating colleges through CG PET 2020 will be determined on the various criteria. The cut off of CG PET 2020 will be decided by the authorities considering factors such as number of candidates applied for an entrance exam, difficulty level of the exam paper 2020, previous year's cutoff trends etc. The cutoff for CG PET and JEE Main qualified candidates will be released by the authorities separately.


CG PET  Counselling

Online Counselling sessions are organised once the qualifying candidates are selected. CG PET  counselling will be conducted by Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Chattisgarh. JEE Main and CG PET qualified candidates need to register to participate in the process. The counselling process will include various steps like option filling, document verification, fee payment, seat allotment, reporting etc. Based on the rank and choice filling done by the candidate, seats will be allotted. There will be 3 rounds of CG PET 2020 seat allotment for JEE Main and CG PET qualified candidates.
