GCET (Goa Common Entrance Test)

GCET 2021 (Goa Common Entrance Test) is organized by Directorate of Technical Education Goa. It is a state level examination which is conducted in the state of Goa every year. GCET is an offline entrance examination for candidates seeking admissions to Professional Degree courses in Engineering and Pharmacy, in the state of Goa.

GCET 2021: Eligibility Criteria

 

  • Applicants who have already passed or appeared at the HSSC (Std. 12th Science) or similar test prior to the start of the 2021 academic session are eligible to apply for GCET 2021.
  • For admissions to Pharmacy Courses, candidates need not appear in Mathematics exam.

Native: Only Indians can apply.

  • Non-resident Indians or NRI with a valid passport can also apply under-seat reserved for NRI category.
  • Cardholders of Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), Persons of Indian Descent (PIO) are also eligible for NRI category seat admissions.

Age limit: There is no such restriction for age limit to get admission in Pharmacy and Engineering courses.

Academic Qualification: All the requirements are given below in detail based on the various courses

Engineering Courses Eligibility: Candidates should have passed 10 + 2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board.

  • Candidate should have Physics, Mathematics, and English as compulsory subject and any one of following the additional subject in Chemistry/ Biotechnology/Biology/ Computer Science.
  • Candidates must have scored at least 45% marks aggregate for the general category and 40% for (reserved) SC/ST/PH candidates.

B. Arch. Eligibility: Candidates must have pass 10 + 2 or equivalent examination with Mathematics subject.

  • Candidates must have scored a minimum of 50% marks aggregate for the general category and 45% for SC/ST/OBC candidates.
  • Applicants should apply for the NATA exam as well.

BHMS and AHS Eligibility: Candidates must have pass 10 + 2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry & Biology subject.

  • Candidates should have secured at least 50% marks aggregate for the general category and 40% for S/ST/PH candidates.

B. Sc. Nursing Eligibility: Candidates must have pass 10 + 2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English subject.

Candidate must have scored at least 45% marks aggregate for general category and 40% marks for SC/ST/OBC candidates.

B. Pharma. Eligibility:    Candidates should have pass 10 + 2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, and English as a compulsory subject.

  • Applicants should have an additional subject in Mathematics, Biotechnology, Biology, and Computer Science, aside from the aforementioned topics.
  • Kashmiri Migrants can apply only in Engineering Courses
  • Applicants must have passed the Class 12 exam or the equivalent exam with English, Physics, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects with one of the following subjects: Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Computer Science/Biology.
  • In the subjects of Physics & Mathematics, the student must secure no less than 45% marks. with one of the following subjects Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Computer Science/Biology.

 

Application for GCET 2021: Steps to follow

 

  1. 1. The application forms for Goa CET 2021 must be filled out in offline mode.
  2. GCET 2021 Application Form consists of the following three forms:
  • Form A: For admission to the Engineering & Pharmacy 2020 GCET-based technical degree courses.
  • Type B: MBBS/BDS/AHS/BHMS/BAMS/nursing 2020 for admission to NEET-based technical degree courses.
  • Form C: for admission to the 2020-21 NATA-based B.Arch degree course.

Important Instructions to fill GCET 2021 Application Form:

  • Affix the latest Photograph on the application form (not taken more than 3 months ago prior to the date of application).
  • Two additional identical passport size photographs are to be fixed with this application form.
  • Write your name in CAPITAL LETTERS and Date of Birth same as in your class 10th mark sheet.
  • The address must be complete, including the postal code of the area.
  • Contact Number must be given with area code in brackets.
  • Topic Code: Encircle the subjects' codes that you want to try.

 The subject codes are:

  • Physics: PY
  • Chemistry: CH
  • Mathematics: MA

Center Code: Write the center code as per your preference.

Self-attest photocopies of the certificates to be enclosed:

  1. SSC or Class 10 Passing Certificate
  2. HSC or class XII passing certificate or HSC Examination Hall Ticket.

The form should be followed by a draught Demand for INR 2000/- payable to Panaji in behalf of any Scheduled Bank's 'Manager of Technical Education,' or any other authorised Bank' form of remittance, as may be duly notified.

GCET : Exam Centers

 

  • • GCET 2021 will take place at the following test centres in Goa State. The code for the desired centre should be entered correctly on the application form.
  • • After the issuance of the Admission Card, any request for a change in the option of papers and/or centre selected/allocated shall not be approved.
  • • The Admission Committee will delegate the testing centre based on the availability of accommodation at the GCET test centres.
  • The Admission Committee will be responsible for allocating the Centre to applicants submitting forms (with late fees).

Important Instructions for Candidates:

  • Candidates should be seated in the exam center at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the paper.
  • No candidate is allowed to enter the test center after 30 minutes of commencement of the test.
  • No candidate is permitted to leave the examination hall until the Goa CET is completed and all the answer sheets collected by the invigilators.

 

GCET 2021 Syllabus

 

The exam's syllabus is entirely based on the 10+2 standard. The exam's syllabus will primarily cover 3 subjects: Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry. The GCET 2021 Syllabus is described in detail below.

GCET 2020 Cutoff

Cut off generally depends on many factors like previous years cut-off, number of applicants, overall performance. Some of the factors are mentioned below:

  • Candidates appeared in the exam
  • Number of candidates qualifying the exam
  • Level of difficulty of question paper
  • Number of vacancies in the exam
  • Candidates who have applied for the GCET 2020 exam are advised to search the official website for the predicted GCET cut-off marks.

 

GCET 2020 Result

 

  •  The results of the GCET will be available on the DTE Goa website and on the DTE Notice Board.Scorecards will not be issued for individual candidates. Any change in schedule is notified in designated newspapers and on the official website.
  • On the basis of marks scored by the students, the merit list will be prepared for admission.
  • There are no provisions for revaluation/verification of marks.
  • Applicants can download from the official website the merit list.

GCET Counseling

 

GCET 2020 Counseling process will commence in the month of July 2020. Registration for the same will start in the month of June 2020. Any change in the dates will be updated on the official website.

  • As per the marks obtained by the candidates, merit list is prepared for all the courses separately.
  • Qualified candidates are invited for counselling on the basis of merit list.
  • The counselling must be personally attended by the respective candidates otherwise will not be considered for admission.
  • All the candidates must carry admit card, academic documents at the time of counselling.
  • Candidates will only get the seat or select the seat on the basis of their rank in the merit list.
  • Candidates must carry their original necessary documents The GCET 2020 score card, passport size photographs at the time of entry, including sheets of 10th and 12th class points,, certificate of 10th and 12th class, caste certificate, domicile certificate, and character certificate, transfer certificate etc.
  • If candidates fail to appear for the counseling sessions, their seats will be offered to other candidates in the merit list.
