KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test)

A state level examination conducted in the state of Karnataka is the Karnataka General Entrance Test (KCET). KCET is administered by the Karnataka Examination Authority on behalf of the Karnataka Ministry of Higher Education (KEA).It is conducted annually for admission to the professional courses of Engineering, agriculture, pharmacy & various others. There are 243 institutes in Karmatka which take admission through KCET.

KCET 2021 Application Form


  • Applicants are recommended to properly fill in all the information in the application form in order to prevent any rejection.
  • The application form was announced by the relevant authority (KEA) via the online mode.
  • Applicants must fill in the application form with their personal and academic information.
  • KCET 2021 application form is accessible from January.
  • The filling office will be issued with the application form until March 2021.
  • After completing all the necessary information, applicants will get their registered phone number and email ID with a user ID and password key.
  • Additionally, applicants need to upload their JPG/JPEG template picture, signature and left-hand thumb impression.
  • In the application form, the officials will also have a KCET correction.
  • The application form will be only considered once payment is done.
  • For further use, take the printout of the filled-in application at the top.

Application Fee for KCET:


Applicants can submit the application fee through both online and offline modes. Candidates residing outside India must send a fee to the Karnataka Examination Authority, Executive Director of the Karnataka Examination Authority, payable in Bangalore, via DD. The demand draft (DD) should be sent to Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) address by mentioning the application number. The application fee varies based on different categories. Please check the table given below:

 KCET 2021 Eligibility Criteria


  • Only the applications of the qualifying candidates will be approved by KEA. Thus, all the KCET eligibility requirements specified by the official authority must be fulfilled.
  • Residence: In order to be eligible for admission through KCET 2021, the applicant must be an Indian.
  • Apparent candidates are also qualified for admission only if, at the time of counselling, they submit proof of passing the qualifying test.


Educational Qualification:

  • The KCET 2021 Course Wise Eligibility Requirements are listed below:

B.Tech/BE eligibility:

  • Candidates can pass the 12th/2nd PUC with English as one of the language subjects and receive 45% aggregate marks in Physics & Mathematics along with Chemistry/Bio-technology/Biology/Electronic/Computer and 40 percent marks for candidates in the reserve group.

B.Arch eligibility:

  • Candidate should be passed 12th/2nd PUC with English as one of the Languages and physics, chemistry & mathematics subjects obtaining 50% aggregate marks in all subjects  and 45% marks for reserve category candidates.

B.V. Sc. & A.H. eligibility

  • Candidate should be passed 12th/2nd PUC with obtaining 50% aggregate marks in PCB & English and it is 40% for reserve category candidates.

MBBS/BDS/Ayush Courses eligibility:

  • Candidates can pass the 12th/2nd PUC with English as one of the language subjects and receive 50 percent PCB aggregate marks and 40 percent reserve group candidate aggregate marks..

B.Pharma eligibility:

  • Candidate should be passed in 2nd PUC/12th with PCB or PCM and obtained a minimum of 45% of marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology subjects and 40% for reserved candidates.


  • Candidate should be passed in Diploma in Pharmacy from an institution approved by PCI and secured minimum of 45% marks while 40% marks for category candidates


KCET 2021: Exam Pattern


The exam will be administered in both the English and Kannada languages, according to the KCET Exam Pattern.

Exam duration: 80 minutes will be given for each paper/subject.

Maximum marks

Sixty marks and total marks are used in each paper: 180

Form of questions: In the examination, multiple choice questions will be asked.

KCET 2021: Syllabus


Only KEA will set up the KCET 2021 exam papers and so the syllabus is also published by them. The first and second PUC syllabuses recommended by the Karnataka State Department of Pre-University Education are the basis of the Karnataka General Entrance Test question papers.

All subjects, such as physics, chemistry, mathematics, biology or any other related subjects, must be learned on the basis of an applied course.

Some Important topics for KCET 2021 are given below:

  • Physics: Real World and Calculation, Kinematics, Motion Rules, Function, Electrostatics of Energy and Strength, Current Electricity, Current and Magnetism Magnetic Effects, Electromagnetic Induction and Alternating Current
  • Chemistry: few basic chemistry principles, atomic structure, element classification and property periodicity, chemical bonding and molecular structure, solid state, solutions, electrochemistry, chemical kinetics, surface chemistry
  • Mathematics: arithmetic, analytical geometry, trigonometry, calculus, algebra, indices and logarithm theory, progressions, mathematical inference, equation theory, permutations and combinations, binomial theorem, partial fractions

KCET 2021: Allotted Exam Centers

  • Karnataka will conduct KCET 2020 in Karnataka at 54 places.
  • Applicants who are qualified under the Horanadu & Gadinadu Kannadiga Requirements are only expected to choose the KCET 2020 Exam Centre in Bangalore.
  • The Kannada language test will only be administered at centres in Bangalore.
  • A realistic test on the agricultural quota is scheduled for 9 am on April 27, 2020.
  • The maximum marks are 200.
  • Minimum of 50% marks in Practical Examination is required to reserve aseat under Agriculturist Quota.
