MAHA CET (Maharashtra Common Entrance Test)

 

The State Common Entrance Test Cell, Mumbai, conducts the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MAHA CET) for admissions to Engineering and Technology (BE/BTech) and Pharmacy (BPharma/PharmD) programs in the Maharashtra state. Maharashtra's DTE conducted the MAHA CET until 2018. On the basis of the MAHA CET 2021 results, qualified students will be assigned seats in various colleges in Maharashtra. MAHA CET attracts over three lakh candidates each year, making it one of India's most popular tests in terms of test-takers.

MAHA CET 2021: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should check the qualifying requirements specified by the exam conducting cell in Mumbai before applying for MAHA CET 2021. Candidates who meet the eligibility requirements will only be allowed to take the MAHA CET in 2021.

  • The applicant must be an Indian citizen.
  • There are no age restrictions for MHT CET 2021.
  • The applicant must have passed the Class XII Physics and Mathematics exam or an equivalent test, with some topics such as Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Technical/ Vocational subjects being required.
  • Candidates who will be taking their HSC or XII exams in 2020 are also considered.
  • Candidates must acquire a minimum of 50% for the General Category and a minimum of 45 percent for the Reserved Category as an aggregate of all five topics.
  • A mining engineering course is not available to female candidates.
  • Candidates must have completed class XII from a recognized board to be eligible for MAHA CET 2021.

 

MAHA CET 2021 Eligibility Criteria: for Engineering Courses

  • Candidates must be Indian citizens.
  • Applicants must have completed a class XII or HSC test in Physics, Chemistry, English, and Mathematics/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational subjects.
  • For reserved category applicants, a minimum of 50% aggregate is required, while a minimum of 45 percent aggregate is required.
  • Passed a Diploma in Engineering and Technology with a minimum of 50% for general category candidates and 45 percent for reserved category candidates.
  • JEE Main Paper 1 marks were used to determine qualification (All India Candidature Candidates, Jammu and Kashmir Migrant Candidature Candidates)

 

MAHA CET 2021 Eligibility Criteria: For Pharmacy courses

  • The candidate must be a citizen of India.
  • The applicant must have finished class XII with English, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, as well as Biology/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational.
  • The minimal percentage criterion for general category applicants is 45 percent, while for reserved category candidates it is 40 percent.
  • There is no upper age limit for this program.

 

MAHA CET 2021: Admission Process

Step 1 - Register for MAHA CET 2021

  • All applicants interested in taking the MAHA CET 2020 must first register on the official website by filling out the essential information. Candidates will not be able to fill out the MAHA CET 2020 application form unless they have registered.

Step 2: Application Form

  • While filling out the application form, aspirants must provide personal information, qualifications, and contact information. After giving all of the required information, candidates must pay the application cost.
  • The application cost is Rs 800 for general category candidates and Rs 600 for reserved category applicants. The MAHA CET application cost for 2021 can be paid online using a debit card, credit card, or net banking account.

Step 3 - Download MAHA CET 2021 Admit card

  • The MAHA CET 2021 admit card is usually released 15 days before the exam, however, the Common Entrance Test Cell has decided to postpone it for the time being. Candidates can get their admit cards from the official website when they have been released by logging into their accounts with the relevant credentials.

Step 4 - MAHA CET 2021 Exam

  • The Common Entrance Test Cell will release the MAHA CET dates soon. This exam is held in two sessions, and candidates are recommended to arrive at the exam center one hour prior to the start of the session.

Step 5: MAHA CET 2021 Result

  • The announcement of the MAHA CET 2021 exam results has been postponed. Once the exam is completed, the cell will make an announcement. The candidate's merit position, marks in each subject, and overall marks are all displayed in the result.

Step 6 – MAHA CET 2021 Counselling

  • Aspirants who pass the exam will be required to attend MAHA CET 2021 counseling, which is expected to take place in August 2020.
