VITEEE (VIT Engineering Entrance Exam)


Vellore Institute of Technology conducts VITEEE for B. Tech and B. Des. Admissions to various campuses, including Vellore and Chennai, as well as Amravati and Bhopal universities. The dates for the entrance exam is mentioned below. The application form of VITEEE 2021 will be available in online and offline mode before registering, the candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria of VITEEE 2021. After booking their slots, candidates will be able to download their e-admit cards.

VITEEE 2021: Eligibility criteria



  • A Resident / Non-Resident Indian National / PIO should be the nominee for entry.
  • International applicants who have studied/studied abroad can only apply directly to international categories. A separate request form will be made available. For info, please search our website.


Age Limit :

  • Candidates whose date of birth is 1 July 1999 or later are eligible to apply for VITEEE-2021. The date of birth as recorded in the Certificate of High School / SSC / X would be considered authentic. Candidates should produce this original certificate as evidence of their age at the time of counselling, for which they would not be excluded.


Qualifying Examination:

Candidates for VITEEE-2021 are expected to have either completed or to appear in any of the following qualifying examinations in 2021:

  • The final assessment by the State Board of the 10+2 Higher Secondary Examination System; the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE, New Delhi); the Council for Higher Education;
  • Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE), New Delhi.
  • Pre-University intermediate or two-year examination administered by a recognised Board/University.
  • Cambridge University High School Certificate Examination or International Baccalaureate Diploma from the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.
  • Advanced (A) level Assessment (London/Cambridge/Srilanka) in General Certificate Education (GCE).
  • Regular 'NIOS' board candidates are also eligible for VITEEE, as per VIT requirements. At the time of entering, they should produce the Migration Cum Transfer Certificate.


Qualifying Exam Eligibility Criteria

  • In the qualifying test (+2/Intermediate), candidates appearing for the VITEEE in 2021 should have obtained a minimum aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology.
  • Average marks earned in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology (PCM/PCB) under +2 (or equivalent) for the following categories should be a minimum aggregate of 50% for the following categories:


Candidates who belong to SC/ST category

  • Candidates from Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura from Jammu and Kashmir/ Ladakh and the North Eastern States. CERTIFICATE TO PROVE COMMUNITY / NATIVITY The CERTIFICATE TO PROVE COMMUNITY / NATIVITY, which will not be considered for entry, should be provided at the time of the consultation.


Stream-Wise  Eligibility:

  • All B. Tech applicants who have chosen MPCEA(Maths/Physics/Chemistry/English/Aptitude) in VITEEE 2020 are eligible. The Services.
  1. Only the following Bio Stream programmes are available for applicants who have opted for BPCEA(Biology/Physics/Chemistry/English/Aptitude) in VITEEE 2020. B.Tech. B.Tech. Bio-engineering Facilities (VIT-Bhopal)
  2. B.Tech. Biotechnology(VIT, Vellore)
  3. B.Tech. B.Tech. Engineering and computer science with a specialisation in bioinformatics (VIT, Vellore)
  4. B.Tech. B.Tech. Communication and electronics with specialisation in biomedical engineering (VIT, Vellore)


VITEEE 2021: Exam pattern


  • The multiple-choice question for all questions will be (MCQ)
  • In addition to subjects, the aptitude segment in VITEEE will be named viz. Physics, Chemistry, English, Maths or Biology. Maths or Biology (40 questions), Physics (35 questions), Chemistry (35 questions), Aptitude (10 questions) and English for the corresponding sections will be the number of questions in VITEEE (5 questions).
  • No Negative marks for wrong answers

VITEEE 2021: Admission Process


Filling of application form

  • Candidates can apply in both ways for VITEEE 2021 online or offline.
  • Go to the VITEEE official website, you can register for the entrance exam by clicking on the link. Fill in the details and also provide the email ID. After this, just confirm your password and fill the complete application form for VITEEE 2021. All the candidates are advised to pay attention while filling their date of birth (DOB) in the application form and choosing the exam centre as it cannot be changed, once selected.


Application fee:

  • An application fee is Rs.1150 for general candidates & 1050 Rs. through Mobile App. Candidates can pay online through Netbanking/Credit/Debit card. NRI students can pay 50 USD through online mode. The application fee for offline application forms is Rs 1250 that can be paid through a DD. Offline application forms will be available in concerned post offices and VIT Campuses. Please review the official website for more information.


VITEEE 2021: Download Admit Card

  • VITEEE 2021 admit card will be issued to the candidates online. Candidates need to download the VITEEE admit card and take a print out for the entrance exam day.
  • Candidates are advised to keep their admit card safe till the admission process as if they are shortlisted based on their VITEEE 2020 score, they need to show their admit card at the time of VITEEE 2021 counselling.


Appearing for VITEEE 2021 exam

  • Candidates need to appear for the exam as per the date of the exam as chosen by them. Qualified candidates are shortlisted and thereafter called for the counselling process based on ranks achieved by VITEEE 2021.


Appearing for Counselling Process


The counselling dates will be released by VIT University once the exam results are declared. Candidates need to provide the original as well as the photocopies of documents at the time of VITEEE counselling. The important documents that candidates need to bring along with them for the VITEEE counselling process are listed below:

  1. Class X Board Certificate as proof of date of birth or any other certificate as age proof.
  2. Category Certificate for SC/ST only
  3. Mark sheet of the qualifying exam
  4. VITEEE 2021 Admit Card.
  5. DD for Rs 30,000/- drawn in favour of ‘VIT University, payable at Vellore
  6. Certificate of Nativity (For candidates from Jammu and Kashmir and the North-Eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura)
