"2,084 candidates will appear in the test at five centers in Prayagraj, 1,755 will appear at four centers in Lucknow and another 1,300 will appear in the review at three centers in Ghaziabad”, said UPPSC Secretary Jagdish.

Two papers of 150 marks each for General Hindi and Essay writing will be published on Thursday. Two 200-mark papers for each of the General Studies-1 and General Studies-2 will take place on 22 January, followed by two 200-mark papers for each of the General Studies-3 and General Studies-4 on 23 January and two 200-mark papers for each of the elective topics on 25 January.

On 11 October 2020, the PCS (Preliminary) Test-2020 was conducted at 1,282 examination centers in 19 state cities, in which 3,14,699 candidates participated. On 21 November 2020, the outcome was announced, with 5,393 candidates declared successful in the main test.

However, a revised outcome was issued on 27 November in which 1,131 successful candidates were declared out of the previous outcome and 1,481 new candidates were declared successful in the main test. The Commission itself has, for the first time, updated the findings of the PCS preliminary assessment and re-released the results. According to the Tribunal, due to an oversight made by the NIC, the outcome had to be changed. As the serial number of posts of Labor Compliance Officer and Child Development Project Officer is found to be distinct in ads and web applications, the outcome had to be changed.

A total of 5,393 candidates were declared eligible for the main examination in the results published on November 21, but 5,535 candidates were declared successful for the main examination after modification. However, only 5,139 candidates qualified for the primary test, while the remaining 396 applicants did not.
