Reopening of Delhi University: Classes start today for final year students, all colleges, centers to be functional. From today, February 1 onwards, Delhi University will reopen for final year students. By retaining all SOPs, the schools, centers, and departments will reopen.

DU Reopening for final year students

From today, February 1 onwards, Delhi University has agreed to reopen for final year students. There will be functions for schools, centers, and divisions and all teaching staff will have to attend their workplace from today. The decision was taken after a meeting with the heads of university departments and principals of DU-affiliated colleges was held.

"According to the official notice issued by the varsity, "only final year students can visit their respective colleges/centers/departments in small lots for their laboratory/practicals/skills/library and related activities at the discretion of the respective principal/director/head in compliance with the UGC guidelines and SOPs dated November 5, 2020, and MHA order dates January 5, 2020.

Students of the final year who require access to laboratories and have practical classes will first be allowed to return. The return of students, however, is not necessary and they can return on a voluntary basis to their campus.

In a staggered way, the colleges will re-open. The colleges and other centers issued by the school center will be accompanied by all the SOPs, college reopening that involves social distancing, student thermal checking, sanitization of classrooms and other college premises, compulsory use of face masks and sanitizers, among others.

Meanwhile, from February 5 onwards, the Delhi government agreed to reopen schools for Classes 9, 11 along with colleges, universities, and diploma institutes. The Deputy CM, Manish Sisodia, declared this on January 29, 2021.

Re-opening of Delhi University: Delhi University (DU) is all set to re-open from 1 February onwards. According to the sources, after a meeting with the heads of university departments and principals of colleges affiliated with the varsity, the re-opening decision concerning DU was made. From February 1, all schools, centers, and departments will be functional and all teaching staff has been invited to attend their workplace. Students must remember, however, that the University of Delhi will not be open to everyone.

Among the students, only final-year students were asked in limited batches to return to campus. Students who require access to laboratories and have practical classes in the final year will be entitled to return first. The return of students, meanwhile, is not obligatory. Students may return to their campus on a voluntary basis, according to the notice.
