CA, CS, and ICWA Equivalent to PG Degree: UGC

As per the University Grants Commission: According to the University Grants Commission, applicants who pass the Chartered Accountant (CA), Business Secretary (CS), or Cost and Works Accountant (ICWA) exams will now be considered similarly to postgraduate degree holders (UGC). Holders of a business secretary degree will also be eligible to obtain a Ph.D. in commerce and related fields. The course content has been developed to keep up with the evolving nature of the global governance system, according to ICSI. "The University Grants Commission (UGC) had received requests from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), and the Institute of Cost Accountants of India to accept the qualifications being awarded by the CA, CS, and ICWA, equivalent to post-graduate degrees," the UGC said in official order.
