UP Schools, Coaching Centres Closed

UP Schools, Coaching Centres Closed: Due to the increase in COVID-19 cases, the Uttar Pradesh State Government has announced that all schools and coaching centers in the state will remain closed until April 30, 2021. Exams that were previously scheduled will continue to be held as per the previously announced schedule during this period. UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made the decision to close schools today after reviewing the current situation in the state. Offline classes have been closed for students in grades 1 to 12 at both government and private schools across the state until the end of April, following the issuance of orders.

Exam to Continue as per Schedule: While schools in the state have been closed, the government has allowed schools to continue holding exams as per the schedule that was announced earlier. Exams can be held on schedule, and teachers and other staff members can go to school, as per the Chief Minister's Office (CMO). The decision to close schools in the state was made in mind of the increasing number of COVID-19 incidents. On April 10th, UP reported 12,787 new coronavirus cases and 48 new deaths, taking the total number of deaths to 9,085 and the number of infections to 6,76,739.

UP Board Exam 2021 Postponed: The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad has also postponed the UP Board 10th and 12th Exams 2021 due to the evolving situation surrounding the pandemic and the upcoming Panchayat Elections. As per the new schedule, the UP Board 10th Exam for High School students will begin on May 8th and run until May 25th, 2021. In a similar vein, Class 12 Board Exams will begin on May 8th and run until May 28th, 2021. These exams were originally scheduled for April.

UP promotion in classes 1 to 8: It was previously announced that students in UP government schools in grades 1 to 8 would be promoted to the next level without having to take any exams. On Tuesday, Director General School Education Vijay Kiran Anand issued directives to all District Basic Education Officers in this regard. The new academic session will begin on April 1, 2021, as per the order. At the end of April, the promoted children will be evaluated and tested on the previous class's competencies. The annual review of children in council schools from grades 1 to 8 was held on March 25 and 26.
