The new MA program at IIT Delhi will have an open house on March 15.

 

 

A written exam and an interview will be the basis for admission to the new MA program. The scheduled date of the written exam is May 18.

 

The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) Department of Humanities and Social Sciences announced on March 11 the opening of a new master's program called MA Culture, Society, Thought. The new program's application period is from March 20 to April 4, with the program commencing in July 2024. On March 15, the Department will also have an open house. At hss.iitd.ac.in, candidates can register for the open house.

 

The two-year, full-time program aims to prepare students for a variety of theoretical and methodological perspectives on the modern world. Graduates of the program will also be qualified to pursue their research interests by enrolling in other PhD programs in any nation or in the doctoral program at IIT Delhi. According to Institute regulations, individuals who maintain a CGPA as advised by the Institute (currently, 8.0) would be eligible to apply directly into IIT Delhi's PhD program.

 

MA in Culture, Society, and Thought, IIT Delhi: For graduates with a bachelor's degree in any field, a minimum of 55% of marks or an equivalent CGPA is required. For candidates in the SC, ST, or PH categories, 50% or an equivalent CGPA.

 

Graduates from all other programs (such as BTech, BSc, BCom, BDes, and BEd): First division for graduates in all other programs, etc. SC/ST/PH aspirants must have a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent CGPA.

 

‑ The program is open to graduates of both 3- and 4-year undergraduate programs.

 

‑ Graduates of four-year undergraduate programs are not eligible for credit waivers.

 

‑ IIT Delhi BTech Advanced Standing students are also permitted.

 

‑ Performance toward the qualifying degree is calculated by adding together all of the semesters and years of the degree. Considering all topics (including subsidiaries and languages, all years combined).

 

Both an interview and a written exam are part of the admissions procedure. The online interview will take place on May 27 and 28, while the written exam is scheduled on May 18.

 

Performance on the written test will be administered by the Department of Social Sciences and Humanities or a GATE score in any area related to XH. Those selected for interviews based on their performance on a written test or GATE score will receive an invitation.
